The ASO will be performing this weekend at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, including a special performance of David Itkin’s Pulitizer Prize-nominated tone poem, “Jonah.” The evening’s performance, presented in conjunction with our 2007 art festival, will be a unique blend of the musical and visual arts in a celebration of three years of art festivals: 2005’s “Exploring the 23rd Psalm,” 2006’s “Beginnings,” and 2007’s “Jonah.” The artwork from those three festivals will be projected on screen during the performances. The Arkansas Arts Council has also provided a grant in collaboration with the symphony performances.

The musical numbers the symphony will perform are listed below:

Friday's performance is at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday's are at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All seats are general admission.

Tickets are one for $15 each, two-nine for $12.50 each, and ten or more for $10 each. We believe that these are excellent prices!

yikes...i didn't mean to frustrate so many...i even got phone calls about the cruelty of that last post...so sorry. now anything i say is going to be a dissappointment...but I am excited about it. i got a GREAT job in Little Rock at Fellowship Bible Church, and i start the 17th of July...in 2 weeks...yikes! so now i have to find somewhere to live, maybe a roommate, etc....see, exciting huh? but i'm finally leaving arkadelphia, which is a mixed bag really. i've gotten pretty used to being here...but i know that it is time to move on. there's the huge news!!

I found out yesterday that I have to have my gallbladder removed...which is not surprising since this is hereditary, and everyone in my family has already had this done. the surgery is pretty basic and should just be day-surgery, but I'm still a little nervous. I would definitely welcome your prayers.

in other news, a good friend began a 30 day lock-down period yesterday in his journey to become a Special Forces Green Beret for the Army. during this time he won't be able to talk to anyone or receive any mail, and his officers will test him by not letting him sleep, eat, and go on crazy drills. be praying for him too.

so posting twice in one week is a little much for me...but i need feedback. i've spent the last several years realizing that whether it's a trendy idea at the time or not, i have been made for community. i might like to sit by myself sometimes, or stand alone in the rain...but ultimately, i was made to share my life with others. it is for that reason that Little Rock seems a better option than Dallas...because of the community in AR that i have grown to love.

the trick comes when i see pictures of my niece, and i know that it will be a long time before i can laugh with her again. or i think about the last time i held my mom's hand...or how long it will be before i hug my beautiful sister. i am absolutely in love with my family, and they are in Dallas.

what should i do??

so it's been a while. Pam is married, my car is in the shop again, Whitney is a successful mother of two, and I'm deciding between Little Rock and Dallas. that's the update for the day.

There they are...my two beautiful nieces! While Lillian will be 3 this Sunday (can you believe it??), Alyssa was born late Sat. night right after midnight -- 6 lbs. 14 oz. She is amazing and so peaceful. I stayed with Whitney and the baby at the hospital for the first couple of days, so Matt (the daddy) could get some sleep, and then they went home yesterday. I can't believe she's already here! I have to say that babies are incredible...talk about trust...they are so dependent upon others for everything, and yet they sleep soundly without a care in the world for hours! What a gift. I love my family.

well, i did it...i now have tattoo number 2. why is this so addictive?

i'm leaving tomorrow to go home and hold my sister's hand while she has her second baby...crazy times with the fam'. she reminded me the other day that this will not be a pretty process...like she's worried i'll run away screaming or something. maybe i will...i doubt it though. i'll let you know...
